Calculate your expected due date from your IVF embryo transfer date. Works for both Day 3 cleavage-stage and Day 5 blastocyst transfers.
Confirm with your reproductive endocrinologist and first ultrasound.
IVF due date calculation differs from natural conception dating because fertilization occurs in the laboratory on a known date. Embryo transfer occurs 3 or 5 days after egg retrieval and fertilization.
To standardize dating with your OB-GYN's system (which uses LMP), an equivalent LMP date is calculated. This is 14 days before your estimated ovulation/retrieval date, allowing your pregnancy to be managed using standard gestational age charts.
Your reproductive endocrinologist typically manages care until 8–10 weeks (after confirming heartbeat and fetal development), then transfers care to your OB-GYN. IVF pregnancies are considered higher risk for multiples and are often monitored more closely in early weeks.
