IVF Pregnancy Due Date Calculator
If you conceived through IVF, your due date is calculated differently from natural conception. Because your egg retrieval and embryo transfer dates are precisely known, IVF dating is actually more accurate than LMP-based dating. Our IVF due date calculator handles Day 3 transfers, Day 5 blastocyst transfers, and frozen embryo transfers (FET).
IVF Due Date by Transfer Type
- Day 5 blastocyst transfer (fresh): Transfer date + 261 days = EDD
- Day 3 embryo transfer (fresh): Transfer date + 263 days = EDD
- Day 5 frozen embryo transfer (FET): Transfer date + 261 days = EDD
- From egg retrieval date: Retrieval date + 266 days = EDD
- Donor egg recipient: Use transfer date with Day 5 formula regardless of donor's retrieval date
IVF Pregnancy Timeline β Key Milestones
- Day 3 post-transfer: Implantation typically occurs
- Day 9β14 post-transfer: Beta hCG blood test at clinic
- 4 weeks post-transfer: Home pregnancy test reliable
- 6β7 weeks: First ultrasound β heartbeat confirmed
- 8β10 weeks: Graduated from fertility clinic to OB-GYN
- 12 weeks: NT scan and first trimester screening
- 20 weeks: Anatomy scan β detailed fetal survey
Is my IVF due date the same as a natural conception due date? The EDD is calculated the same way in terms of duration, but the starting reference point differs. IVF uses the transfer or retrieval date rather than LMP, making it more precise.
Can my IVF due date change after ultrasound?Yes. If the 6-8 week ultrasound measurement differs significantly from transfer-based dating, your clinic may adjust your EDD. Ultrasound dating in early pregnancy is highly accurate.
Do IVF babies have the same gestational age milestones?Yes. IVF babies follow the same developmental milestones as naturally conceived babies at the same gestational age. Being conceived via IVF does not affect fetal development.
